Asian Business Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and Awards 2019

Last few tickets remaining for one of the biggest Awards Dinners of the Year, can you ‘dare’ to miss it?

It’s amazing how much the world has changed in my lifetime. When I was a kid, one of the biggest international stars was Evel Knievel from the USA.

He was the ultimate showman, a daredevil motorcycle jumper. You never knew if people tuned in to watch him jump successfully or watch him die.

As well as a showman, he was also a shrewd business man. One of his final jumps was at Wembley Stadium. He flew in (by plane) three weeks before the jump having only sold 3000 of the 80,000 tickets.

At arrival on UK soil, he held a press conference and told the gathered media “I’m so glad to be here in England, where we came and won the war for you.

He continued his promotional campaign by driving around telling everyone this place would be rubble if it wasn’t for the Americans.

Needless to say, he sold all 80,000 tickets at Wembley. I’m guessing very few came to see him jump successfully over the thirteen London Red Buses lined up.

There was a happy ending to the story; he successfully cleared the thirteen buses,  landed awkwardly, thrown from the bike and pretty much broke every bone in his body. But he survived.

They don’t make ‘em like that any more.

If Motorcycles and Business are amongst your favourite subjects, the Asian Business Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner and Awards 2019 may just be the ticket.

The Awards will be held at the National Motorcycle Museum near to Birmingham Airport. There’s an Air India flight landing at Birmingham Airport thirty minutes before the evening revs off so if you only have hand luggage, you could still make it.

There are 70 tickets remaining as well as Sponsorship opportunities.

I can’t promise ABCC President Qasim Majid will don white leathers and jump over thirteen West Midlands Metro Trams but the ABCC Awards are always a great night showcasing some of the region’s business stars.
